Some time ago, I participated in the annual Inktober Challenge, created by artist Jake Parker. It was a way to practice my drawing and inking skills. This page is a visual document of fun I’ve had with this annual challenge.
Above this paragraph are a few of my favorite challenges. If you’ve seen the first installment of the 2003 movie Kill Bill, you’d likely remember an an unfortunate situation witnessed by a young girl named Nikkia Bell. This illustration is my imagining of an adult version of Ms. Bell, preparing to avenge in a sequel of this movie, if that were to happen!
The details of sketching the keys here were a nice challenge, as well as the yummy stack of waffles.

I really like how this snake was sketched, especially figuring out how to render the scales.
I like to cook, and I have a number of measuring cups and spoons. I also like to cook with jalapeños. And nuts are a snack healthier than potato chips.
I have a strong affinity for succulent plants, and have spent time learning how to care for them, as well as learn about their different types and origins.
Is your spirit as fierce as this puma?
I’ll say this: I had FUN drawing the male figure. 🙂 Also, it inspires me to consider some studies with the cross hatching technique.
In the spirit of games, a stack of wooden pieces for a puzzle, as well as a set of jacks, with a ball. Also included here is a snail, as well as a scale.
In between sweet treats, such as a bean pie or a cinnamon roll, it’s time for yoga!
Whomever donned these filthy pair of shoes was probably in the muddy part of a yard, adjusting an electric item with their tools.
I hope these winged creatures don’t freak you out! Bats and bees are beautiful beings!
